The Opportunity
This demographic holds immense potential for innovation and creativity, making it crucial to harness and channel their talents effectively. However, within this dynamic group, there exists a segment often overlooked—the neurodiverse youth.
Our commitment is clear; by the end of year 2025:
- We aspire to empower and support 20 Entrepreneurs, creating not just businesses but also generating 200 jobs in the process.
- We aim to establish talent development activities that nurture the unique abilities of neurodiverse individuals, fostering an inclusive and innovative future for Nigeria.
OUR CHRONICLES
Our inauguration by the First Lady of Lagos state, Her Excellency, Dr Ibironke Claudiana Sanwo-Olu saw us opening a vibrant collaboration with the Enterprise Development Centre and Yemisi Shylon Museum of Art, both of Pan Atlantic University. In attendance were notable personalities and organisations who gave their support and endorsement.
So far, in conjunction with Yemisi Shyllon Museum of Art we held a five-day residential animation camp at the Pan Atlantic University. The success was evident in the achievements and fulfilment of the campus who consisted of neurodivergent as well as neurotypical youth.
We followed this with another five-day Music, Photography and Videography Masterclass in December 2022. This was well attended by a mix of neurodivergent and neurotypical campers. A song was even composed and recorded by the campers in just four days!
We continued our awareness and advocacy campaign by partnering with SUPPORTING EMOTIONAL NEEDS OF THE GIFTED Network (SENG) USA during Neurodiversity Week in March 2023.
In April 2023, we held a free mini-conference in conjunction with SENG, USA, introducing Nigerian educators to Twice Exceptional learners and their needs.
We attended the ANIMATION CAMP at the University of Southern Florida, Tampa USA in May 2023, leaving lasting and impactful lessons for the youth.
TLIA Mission
To establish an inclusive, innovation-driven ecosystem that equips gifted young neurotypical and neurodiverse learners with the essential tools for sustained economic empowerment.
Our Imminent Goal
TLIA is dedicated to enhancing awareness and providing essential support to Twice-Exceptional individuals through:
- . The establishment of the TLIA/Bridges 2E Africa Center, which focuses on advancing the theory and practice of Twice Exceptionality through research, training, and strategic development.
- . Creating a state-of-the-art multimedia studio to nurture talent and act as a hub for innovation, alongside other impactful initiatives.
- . Our next phase of impact and significance is imminent. In conjunction with BRIDGES GRADUATE SCHOOL COGNITIVE DIVERSITY, Califirnia USA, we ae gearing up to host the AFRICA 2E Centre. The purpose is for the propagation of TWICE-EXCEPTIONAL Capacity Development, Reseacrch and Dissemination in Education.
